We left Australian and hopped on to land of kiwis - New Zealand
The indigenous Polynesian people of mainland New Zealand, Maori, has an ancient method of cooking food call "Hāngi" using super heated rocks buried in the ground in a pit oven. The Hāngī food, typically chicken, fish, kumara(sweet potato) is left in the ground for about three to four hours. The result is tender meat and delicious vegetables, infused with smoky, earthy flavours. We can't miss Kiwis most favorite meat "lamb". With more population of sheep than people, lamb is the preffered choices. We are going for roasted lamb with a lot of harb and root vegetables. Perfect dinner for a fall evening. Finishing of the day with Pavlova, meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova that believed to have been created in honour of the dancer either during one of her tours to Australia and New Zealand in the 1920s.
Our current local favorites also available including pot roast, fall season roasted chicken, and baked enchiladas.
